Pour la petite histoire / A little background

"Andy Warhol is and will remain the undisputed icon of Pop Art. Many artists have been inspired by his work, which is rich in colour and symbolism. For me, it's obviously an incredible source of inspiration. First of all, you have to compose your portrait by multiplying the colour codes, then you have to cut out each portrait with a scalpel, one by one, and place them on different colourful backgrounds... It's a meticulous but captivating job, a mise en abîme of the master within his own universe that I'm revisiting. "

"Andy Warhol is and remains the undisputed icon of Pop Art. Many artists have been inspired by his life's work, rich in colour and symbolism. For me, his unique use of screen printing is an incredible source of inspiration, so I chose the same medium for this piece. The process goes as follows: you compose your portrait by multiplying the colour codes, then you have to cut out each portrait with a scalpel, one by one, and place them against different colourful backgrounds. It's a meticulous but captivating job, a mise en abîme of the master within his own universe that I'm revisiting."
