Pour la petite histoire / A little background
Original photograph by Ethan Russell, official photographer for the Rolling Stones' 1969 tour, taken at an airport in 1972. Keith Richards, leaning against a fountain, takes it all in after yet another wild night out. Here Russell captures a moment of the musician's downtime, at once in tune with the message of the poster beside him and yet so far removed from reality. The saturated, metallic blue of the image, a personal touch added by Manitof in addition to the relief given by the succession of pieces, accentuates the psychedelic side and the discrepancy of the intrinsic message of the revisited work.
